The Paterson's Housing Authority's 3rd Annual First-time Homebuyer's Fair

The Housing Authority held its 3rd Annual Homebuyer's Fair on June 10, 2004 at the Christopher Hope Center located at 60 Temple Street in Paterson. Several hundred people attended the event. Mayor Torres attended the affair and gave the potential homebuyers a warm welcome along with Irma Gorham, the Executive Director of the Housing Authority. Another special guest present at the event was Ed De Paula, Public Housing Director from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.

Informational booths were located in gym from 1-7pm while three workshops were held in the conference room. The workshop topics were: Predatory Lending Issues, Homebuyer Strategies and Tips, and the City of Paterson's New Housing Plans. Mayor Torres also provided participants attending the New Housing Plans workshop with information regarding the City's plans in redeveloping Paterson's housing stock. Northeast Legal Services and NJCDC presented the predatory lending workshop and PNC Bank presented the Homebuyer Strategies and Tips workshop. All three workshops were heavily attended.
