In FY2000, HUD developed a Quality Management Review Program to assess the
efficiency and effectiveness of various field office activities. Each year,
exemplary performances are recognized by the Department. Over the next month,
each of these exemplary practices will be recognized in the Daily Focus Message.

This exemplary practice resulted in an in-depth and comprehensive method that facilitates compliance and monitoring planning. This practice utilizes both qualitative and quantitative information such as the number and level of systemic problems; information taken from all PIH databases; and the examination of the results of previous monitoring reviews. This practice streamlines the risk assessment process and improves the development of strategies for planning and addressing compliance and monitoring issues.
