On his third visit to the hardest hit gulf coast areas of Alabama and Mississippi on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, Southeast Regional Director Bob Young visited with some of the most needy of our victims in the Biloxi, Mississippi area - Vietnamese residents. Significantly, as we approach Veterans Day, November 11, 2005 - relatives of many of these Vietnamese disaster victims served in the Vietnam war, as did RD Young. RD Young spoke with them and gave them Fair Housing Brochures in the Vietnamese language. RD Young also spoke with Mr. Peter Buotte, the disaster volunteer who has been working with this group in Biloxi for the past few months about what HUD could do to assist them. They asked for additional HUD information and assistance. RD Young promised them they were not forgotten and that HUD would be back.
