2000 Best Practice Symposium

The HUD Best Practices and Technical Assistance 2000 Symposium will be held August 7th-10th, 2000 at the Washington Hilton and Towers in Washington, DC. Registration for the symposium will begin at 8:30am on Monday, August 7th. While the conference will showcase the achievements of communities and groups selected for Best Practices awards, there will also be workshops and exhibits presented by Best Practice winners from 1999 and 2000. The symposium will conclude on Thursday with an awards breakfast for the top 100 Best Practices. Participants will also be allotted time throughout the four day event to visit the cinema showcase, technology room, resource room, and the Exhibit Hall, which will house 150+ Best Practice exhibits.

The agenda is structured around 8 tracks - Community Development, Economic Development, Homeownership/Safety & Security, Fair Housing/Housing Counseling, Public Housing/Client Services, Special Needs Housing/Youth Empowerment, Affordable Housing, and Neighborhood Networks - and the workshops will provide technical assistance in several areas, including operations, strategy, and technology.
