Community Planning and Development

  • Does the Nomination generate a significant positive impact on those it is intended to serve or manage?
  • Is the Nomination replicable in other areas of the country, region or local jurisdictions?
  • Does the Nomination demonstrate the effective use of partnerships among government agencies, non-profit organizations or private businesses?
  • Does the Nomination display creativity in addressing a problem?
  • Does the Nomination demonstrate effective leveraging of resources?

Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity

  • Does the Nomination reduce discrimination in housing?
  • Does the Nomination promote geographic mobility for households with low-income, minority and people with disabilities?
  • Does the Nomination integrate fair housing plans into HUD’s Consolidated Plans?
  • Does the Nomination further fair housing in other relevant programs of the Federal Government?
  • Does the Nomination promote substantial equivalency among state and local fair housing agencies and support the work of other local and community organizations involved in housing?
  • Does the Nomination enhance FHEO’s enforcement program?
  • Does the Nomination assist in the reduction of the disparities in the homeownership rated among racial and ethnic groups?
  • Does the Nomination help restore the public trust in HUD?

Housing

  • Does the Nomination contribute to the building and preservation of healthy neighborhoods and communities?
  • Does the Nomination maintain and expand homeownership, rental housing and healthcare opportunities?
  • Does the Nomination operate with a high degree of public and fiscal accountability?
  • Does the Nomination recognize and value its customers, staff, constituents and partners?
  • Does the Nomination help restore public trust HUD?

Public and Indian Housing

  • Does the Nomination recognize residents as the ultimate customer?
  • Does the Nomination improve PHA management and service delivery?
  • Does the Nomination pursue problem solving relationships with PHA, resident, community and government leadership?
  • Does the Nomination act as an agent for change when performance is unacceptable?
  • Does the Nomination demonstrate an effective use of HUD resources?
  • Does the Nomination promote jobs and economic opportunity?

Field Offices/Senior Community Builders

  • Does the Nomination help to create cohesive, economically healthy communities?
  • Does the Nomination leverage federal resources with other resources?
  • Does the Nomination enhance an existing partnership?
  • Does the Nomination involve a new or nontraditional HUD customer?
  • Does the Nomination demonstrate integration of more than one HUD program to address a community need?
  • Does the Nomination address or overcome a unique local challenge(s)?
