Southeast Community Development Professionals meet in Birmingham

The annual Southeast conference of the National Community Development Association was held in Birmingham November 7-9, 2018.

Community development professionals from across the Southeast shared best practices and lessons learned. Featured luncheon keynote speaker was HUD's General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration, Pat Hoban-Moore who recognized participants for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of people who often have no voice.

Other HUD participants included Senior Management Analyst Hollis Wormsby in the opening session; Community Planning and Development Representative Tom Tiffin, who shared practical information on administering Disaster Recovery grants; and Fair Housing and Opportunity Employment Director Staci Gilliam, who presented how Fair Housing concerns impact the administration of Community Planning and Development funded activities.
