The Region IV Deputy Regional Administrator Michael L. Browder provided concluding remarks on behalf of HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge thanking the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® for their invitation to speak and for their ongoing efforts to spotlight the importance of helping all achieve the dream of homeownership during their April 16, 2021 Fair Housing Summit.

"When it comes to fair housing enforcement, HUD is open for business. HUD recognizes the importance of eliminating racial bias and other forms of discrimination in every stage of home buying and renting," said Browder.

Browder highlighted that all people have the right to obtain the housing of their choice, regardless of their race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Birmingham Association of REALTORS® has approximately 3,200 members, and serves the Alabama counties of Jefferson, Shelby, Blount, Calhoun and St. Clair, as well as other outlying areas and municipalities.
