Senior Learns Computer Skills at Neighborhood Networks Center

Washington Shaw is a resident of Marian Plaza, a Senior Apartment Building of Archdiocesan Housing in Denver Colorado; he is also a student of the Sister Mary Lucy Neighborhood Network Center where he has found a way to improve his computer abilities. For the past 6 months Washington has devoted his time to learning and self-discovery by attending a weekly computer class.

It all started in July when he began taking computer classes with five seniors from Marian Plaza. Throughout the 24 classes, Washington improved his typing skills using training software. He also learned how to use the Microsoft Word Office application as well as how to open an email account, which he uses to communicate with his friends. Browsing the Internet has been a fun adventure for him especially during his searches for information about interesting places that he would like to visit.

The Sister Mary Lucy Neighborhood Network Center has provided him with the ability to acquire the skills he needs-particularly in the computer field. The Sister Mary Lucy Neighborhood Network Center is very proud of Washington and will continue helping him create significant achievements in his life.
