Affordable Housing Management Association Awards
Joe Kelso, Supervisory Project Manager, Denver Multifamily Hub, was honored with a Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Asset Management. The award was presented to Joe at the 25th Annual Conference of the Affordable Housing
Management Association (AHMA) on October 10, 2007.
Each year at their annual conference, AHMA recognizes a HUD staff member for the integral role they play in the housing industry. This is the second time Joe was bestowed this privileged award for his outstanding performance and spirit in cultivating a partnership between HUD and the housing industry. This first award was given to Joe in 1998. Joe is truly an invaluable asset to the Department.
HUD Honors Manager of the Year
Kenneth (Ken) Humphrey, the Project Administrator at Heritage Towers in Sheridan, Wyoming was also honored with an award at the 25th Annual AHMA conference. Ken was awarded the �Manager of the Year� from HUD. Each year HUD recognizes a Management Agent or Manager for their exceptional performance and outstanding community service within the HUD subsidized portfolio. As the Project Administrator, Ken assumes all management responsibilities of this hi-rise property designated for the seniors and disabled, which consists of 75 units. Ken has an extraordinary knowledge and understanding of HUD regulations, policies and procedures. On top of staying in compliance with HUD, Ken truly cares about the residents that live at Heritage Towers. Ken going out of his way to accommodate the residents; he even persuaded the YMCA across the street to provide holiday programs, exercise programs and other activities that involve interaction with children in the community.
