Green Building - First Affordable Homebuilder to Incorporate New Standards

HUD Deputy Regional Administrator Dan Gomez, Jr. showed HUD support at the Golden, CO groundbreaking ceremony announcing a new partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is the first affordable homebuilder in the country to build homes incorporating the green building standards of the EPA's new homes programs: WaterSense, ENERGY STAR and Indoor airPLUS.

EPA Regional Administrator Jim Martin and HUD Deputy Regional Administrator Dan Gomez, Jr., Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver Executive Director Heather Lafferty, and two of Golden's city officials congratulated soon to be homeowner, Wendy at the groundbreaking of her new home.
