Sustainable Communities Award for Colorado

U.S. Congressman Ed Perlmutter and HUD's Regional Administrator Rick Garcia

Grants will create jobs, improve housing, transportation and economic vitality of urban and rural regions.

$4.5 million worth of federal funds will go toward more than 50 communities, organizations and regional areas. The event was held at the Olde Arvada Town Square. It was hosted by HUD with assistance from the City of Arvada.

Congressman Ed Perlmutter was excited about HUD's recent award to the Denver Regional Council of Government for a $4.5 million for the Sustainable Communities Planning Grant. He spoke at the Olde Arvada Town Square on November 22, 2011.

The Capan's are lifelong residents of Arvada and love shopping at the Olde Town Square business district. Today was a special treat they were able to see their elected officials in their community.
