HUD ANNOUNCES A $75,835 HOUSING COUNSELING GRANT FOR
NORTHEAST DENVER HOUSING CENTER

DENVER - Housing and Urban Development Regional Director John Carson delivered more than $75,000 in HUD
funding to the Northeast Denver Housing Center this week. The nonprofit organization was awarded a housing counseling grant of $75,835. The program assists and/or supports homebuyers, homeowners, homeless individuals
or families, and renters with several different types of housing counseling programs.

The funding announced today is designated to aid clients by counseling for pre-purchase/post purchase counseling, homebuyer education programs, prevention of mortgage delinquency or default, money/debt management, etc. Housing counseling assistance and related services funded by the Northeast Denver Housing Center are a vital part
of the comprehensive system of ending chronic homelessness in 10 years. The objective of the housing counseling program is to help individuals or families to improve their housing situation and meet their responsibilities.

"I am proud to honor the Northeast Denver Housing Center with funds that will aid their efforts to provide housing counseling," said Carson. "The community members will benefit from this important education and guidance."

Other grants have been funded by HUD to the Northeast Denver Housing Center. In the last five years HUD awarded $153,419 to the Northeast Denver Housing Center. "The Northeast Denver Housing Center has worked well with the community and provides outreach to help people obtain safe affordable housing" said Carson.
