HUD REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR AND ASSISTANT SECRETARY TO ANNOUNCE NEW LGBT HOUSING RULE
Department addresses housing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity

DENVER - U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Assistant Secretary John Trasviña, Rocky Mountain Region Administrator Rick Garcia along with local government officials and fair housing groups will announce HUD's new rule on housing. Utilizing its authority to promote decent housing and a suitable living environment for all, HUD has taken important steps to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons have equal access to housing and HUD programs. Additionally, HUD will announce a grant to the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) to fight housing discrimination.
