Partnership work helps Bristol residents get vaccinated

HUD's Hartford Office partnered with Beacon Communities, the state of Connecticut Department of Public Health and Griffin Hospital to host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Bristol, CT.

Recently, Beacon Communities hosted a mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Coppermine Village, a 176 unit partially assisted HUD multifamily property. The clinic which was open to the public was organized with the assistance of HUD's Hartford Field Office, the State of CT Department of Public Health and Griffin Hospital. HUD staff helped spread the word to all HUD associated properties and shelters in the area.

The property will host a follow-up clinic to provide second Pfizer vaccinations as well as offering the one-shot J & J vaccine. Resident response was positive. Bristol, CT one of the Hartford Office's priority communities has a first time vaccination rate of 65.45%, below the statewide average of 73.8% but above the national average of 62%.
