Jacksonville welcomed the addition of 16 brand new villas that former homeless veterans now call home.

The villas were developed in a three-story building constructed 100 years ago in downtown. The Clara White Mission, a homeless service provider, received $1.8 million from HUD funds (CDBG and HOME) towards the $3.4 million project, which was made possible by a public-private partnership that included also the City of Jacksonville and Wells Fargo Bank.

Ju'Coby Pittman, CEO and President of the Clara White Mission indicated their pride in "helping our veterans who have served our country. It is now our time to serve them." A community resource center is also located in the building to offer the residents supportive services. The apartments are fully furnished to help welcome the veterans to their new homes.
