HUD ANNOUNCES LUIS MANUEL ROLLE AS MIAMI, FL FIELD OFFICE DIRECTOR

MIAMI - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Southeast Regional Administrator Denise Cleveland-Leggett, announced today the selection of Luis Manuel Rolle to serve as HUD Field Office Director for the southern part of Florida based in Miami. Rolle's appointment takes place immediately.

As the Miami Field Office Director, Rolle will serve as HUD's liaison to mayors, city managers, county commissioners, elected representatives, state and local officials, congressional delegations, nonprofit groups, private entities, faith-based groups, other stakeholders and individual Americans. He will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of HUD programs and services to communities and individuals, as well as evaluating their efficiency and effectiveness.

"Luis Manuel brings respected leadership and more than 20 years of contracting and logistics experience acquired during his honored military service," said Cleveland-Leggett. "He will enhance and accelerate the ongoing efforts and progress being made throughout the communities of the southern part of Florida."

"I am looking forward to working with Secretary Carson, Regional Administrator Cleveland-Leggett, HUD's Region IV team, our partners and staff in finding long-term solutions to safe, fair, and affordable housing across South Florida."

Prior to joining HUD, Rolle was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of active duty service, for which he received numerous medals and awards, including: The Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Medal; Joint Service Commendation Medal; 11 Army Commendation Medals; 3 Army Achievement Medals; Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Combat Stars; North Atlantic Treaty Organization Service Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; and Valorous Unit Award.

Luis Manuel completed his college education with honors, earning his degree in Forensic Criminology from Colorado State University-Pueblo, while continuing his military education as an expert in logistics and intelligence in Asia and the Middle East. In 2007, President George W. Bush appointed him, with a direct commission, into the Medical Service Corps, United States Army. He is a member of the National Contract Management Association, the American Hospital Association, and Senior Vice President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10212.

Rolle resides in Miami, Florida with his daughter, Crystal Michelle.
