HUD Regional Director Bob Young was an honored guest at the Energy Star: Change A Light Change the World kick-off at Georgia Power. The event included the Assistant Secretary for US DOE, EPA Regional Officials, Georgia Power officials and others. Participants were asked to pledge to do their part hand help Georgia's environment by changing a standard light bulb in their home to a qualified compact florescent bulb. Compact Florescent Fixtures use two-thirds less energy than a standard light-bulb and last 6 to 15 times longer. Customers can save $25.00 in utility costs over the life of each bulb they replace. Other energy events will follow through out the month.
