Senior program representatives from HUD's Atlanta Region meet with ADAPT members to provide them training regarding HUD programs and how they relate to the disabled community while also recognizing December 3, 2009 as International Day for Persons with Disabilities. "On this day we are afforded an excellent opportunity to provide you with information about HUD programs, exchange ideas and concerns and also recognize International Day for Persons with Disabilities. Working together by developing strong bonds of understanding and partnerships strengthens our ability to serve you better and for you to understand what are role is in that effort," said Mr. Donnie Murray, Acting Deputy Regional Director.

Representatives from ADAPT Georgia met in the HUD Regional Office to better understand HUD programs and HUD's role in terms of working with the disabled. "Our training today with HUD is the beginning of a new and stronger relationship and serves as a good opportunity for ADAPT members to know more about what is available to them and others and we thank HUD for all their help," said Barbarann Bongiovanni, ADAPT Georgia senior organizer. Over 20 ADAPT members participated in the five hour training session presented by HUD Region IV Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Regional Office, Single Family Housing, Multifamily Housing and Public and Indian Housing.
