On February 24, 2011 as Southeast Regional Administrator Ed Jennings, Jr., looked out over the Georgia Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA) Conference room of over 300 owners and managers of affordable multifamily housing, his back stiffened, a smile came over his face and he announced with conviction and deep appreciation his thanks for their efforts to actively help their residents.

"This conference and the wealth of information provided is indicative of SAHMA's commitment to provide each of you with the necessary information that will help you do your jobs better and in turn take care of the residents...those that are so often most vulnerable to ensure they receive quality affordable housing." said Jennings, Jr.

Angie Waller, SAHMA President added, "SAHMA was very pleased to have Administrator Jennings speak to our group and he energized our attendees with his heartfelt words of encouragement. It means the world to us that he understands and shares our commitment and passion for providing the best Multifamily Affordable Housing in Georgia and throughout the region."

Jeff Fleming, Chief of Multifamily Asset Management in the Atlanta Multifamily stated that the SAHMA meeting attendees were eager to hear Mr. Jennings' comments reassuring the attendees that indeed the Obama administration and the HUD leadership are dedicated to continuation and success of the affordable housing programs and meeting the housing needs of our most vulnerable citizens.
