HUD Southeast Regional Administrator Ed Jennings, Jr. and GSA Region IV Regional Administrator Shyam Redding headed up the White House Energy, Environmental and Conservation Round Table in the Atlanta Metro area recently. They were joined by leading "Green" builders, developers and support agencies at Southface Energy Institute (http://www.southface.org/). The event was sponsored by the Atlanta Green Building Council (http://www.usgbcga.org/). The purpose of the round table was to bring green building leaders together to focus on current issues, accomplishments and challenges related to the Administration's energy, environment and conservation portfolio. Over 20 leaders participated in the round table and open discussion. The discussions were both enlightening and indicative of the Administration's commitment to take a bottom down approach to these matters.

"Rarely do we have an opportunity like this to work and hear directly from those most affected by the Administration's policies and most importantly listen to their recommendations and bring them back to the Administration for consideration," said HUD Southeast Regional Administrator Ed Jennings, Jr.

HUD and GSA partnered to take this unprecedented local area initiative as they work together to support the Administration's efforts to provide an listening board for those most affected by and those desiring to provide their input to improve energy, environmental and conservation policies. HUD has innovatively and responsibly responded to these needs and continues to provide needed support.
