On August 30, 2022, Regional Administrator José Alvarez participated in the Juanita H. Gardner Village Groundbreaking Ceremony in the West Atlanta neighborhood of Adamsville. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Atlanta City Councilmember Andrea Boone, Atlanta Housing President, and CEO Eugene Jones provided remarks along with other various community leaders. The Atlanta Housing Authority recognized RA Alvarez's attendance and thanked him for joining in on the grand occasion.

Thanks to the partnership between Atlanta Housing, Invest Atlanta, Timshel Development Group, CRN Development, and Gateway Development, this project will produce 100 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom units, which will all be deemed affordable at or under 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). In addition, one hundred percent of the properties will be accessible and adaptable.
