Georgia Advancing Communities Together (Georgia ACT) is a nonprofit organization which represents the state's nonprofit housing and community development agencies that serve families with limited choices. They use a four-pronged approach to focus on connecting, capacity, advocacy, and engagement to address affordable housing challenges in the state of Georgia. On October 12th, 2022, in collaboration with Neighborworks America and Atlanta Metropolitan State College, Georgia ACT hosted their 2022 Annual Fall Affordable Housing Conference to connect and provide valuable programming for practitioners in the affordable housing and community development industries.

At the conference, Georgia Field Office Director Shea Johnson provided opening remarks that focused on HUD's efforts to bolster affordable housing. In addition, Shea Johnson, Georgia Field Office Director, Adrian Fields, Community Planning and Development Director, and Linn Lawrence, Processing and Underwriting Division Director at Atlanta Homeownership Center, participated in a panel discussion on HUD Initiatives and Programs for Affordable Housing. It was moderated by Mitchell Brown from Resources for Residents and Communities. Georgia ACT continues to host a plethora of housing resource and advocacy events for the community and its members such as their Rental Assistance Virtual Town Hall and their Housing Day at the Capitol.
