The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Hale Kuha'o Open House and Rededication Ceremony

On February 25, 2016 the Board of Directors of Accessible Space, Inc. and the Independent Living Waipahu, Inc. held an open house and rededication ceremony for the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Hale Kuha'o affordable apartments. Hale Kuha'o is a 24-unit affordable apartment facility for very low income adults with physical disabilities and/or traumatic brain injury.

Hale Kuha'o offers 24 wheelchair accessible one and two-bedroom apartments. It is located in a residential neighborhood close to public transportation as well as the Waipahu Public Library. A few of the many features include controlled access entry system, community room, on-site laundry facilities, roll-in showers, and air conditioned apartments.

The City and County of Honolulu provided $521,325 in HOME Investment Partnership Program funds to renovate the floors, plumbing, ceiling, and energy efficient assistive technology improvements.
