Danville Becomes an Illinois
Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Community

HUD employees in Chicago recently welcomed staffers from the State's newest CDBG Entitlement Community, Danville, to a day of orientation training. The City of 33,000 is becoming the 44th unit of government in Illinois to receive an annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Starting next year, Danville will collect approximately a million dollars each year to use for a variety of eligible community development activities.

Representatives of HUD's Community Planning and Development Division, Public Housing, Fair Housing, Labor Relations, and Environmental delivered briefings throughout the day.

The CDBG program has been helping redevelop America's Cities, Towns, and Villages since 1974.
