The new facility, located at 1110 North Noble in Chicago, contains a 16 bed-interim housing facility and a new 8-unit transitional living program designed for longer stays. Programs will serve youths who are not wards of the state. The building will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide shelter and services for youth ages 14-21. It was financed through the efforts of the Night Ministry and the Illinois Facilities Fund.

HUD Regional Director, Joseph Galvan, was among the invited speakers. HUD takes the lead among federal agencies in providing funding for facilities such as this one.

Reverend Thomas J. Behrens, President of Night Ministries and with the program since the day of its founding in 1976, was surprised to learn that the new facility would be named after him. Jeffrey Anderson, (left) Board Chair of the Night Ministry, revealed the honor to the much surprised Behrens, shown here holding the plaque aloft for all to see.
