HUD MIDWEST REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR ELECTED FEDERAL EXECUTIVE BOARD CHAIR

CHICAGO - U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Regional Administrator Antonio R. Riley was elected to serve as the Chair of the Chicago Federal Executive Board (http://chicago.feb.gov/) effective October 1, 2014.

Chicago Federal Executive Board members and area agency leadership elected Antonio R. Riley as the Chairman to lead coordination efforts of shared initiatives among the 178 federal offices and agencies representing approximately 55,000 Federal employees and military personnel in the Chicagoland area including the following counties: Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties in Illinois, and Lake and Porter counties in Indiana.

The mission of the Federal Executive Board is to increase the effectiveness of the Federal Government by strengthening coordination of government activities. The primary objectives in serving as a catalyst for better government include (1) Emergency Preparedness (2) Workforce Development (3) Government & Community Partnerships.

President Obama appointed Antonio R. Riley as HUD Midwest Regional Administrator in 2010. Riley indicated "It is an honor for me to be elected by my peers to serve in this capacity as we strive to reduce redundancies by creating synergies, enhanced collaboration and shared partnerships across our lines of business."

Administrator Riley is a graduate of Carroll University in Wisconsin and of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Riley served 10 years in the Wisconsin Legislature representing Milwaukee's 18th Assembly District. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous accolades and awards including the Legacy Foundation's prestigious Legacy Award. Riley earned the 2009 Legacy Award for being a person who passionately promotes, supports and invests in efforts that increase entrepreneurial opportunities; and consistently reflects passion through his actions in bold and innovative ways creating wealth-building opportunities for everyone.
