Mayoral Awards for Good Character and
Education Excellence

Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson wanted to recognize good character and excellence in education in the Indianapolis school system.

The Mayor's Character Counts Award (http://www.indygov.org/mayor/awards/char_awards.htm) recognizes acts of good character each month. Mayor Peterson gives the award to recognize students, student organizations, and schools whose conduct reflects exemplary character.

The Mayor's Excellence in Education Award (http://www.indygov.org/mayor/awards/excel_awards.htm) recognizes students, teachers, groups, and schools whose excellence merits recognition and whose example will inspire others.
