Jennifer Tidwell Appointed as Regional Administrator for Region VII

On November 19, 2013, Jennifer Tidwell was sworn in as HUD Regional Administrator for Region VII. That includes the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Ms. Tidwell has worked extensively in the housing and real estate industry for over 20 years.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Tidwell was the Deputy Director of Public Policy for the Missouri Housing Development Commission. She led the Tax Credit Administration Department, MBE/WBE Initiative/Section 3, and the Government Affairs/Budget Division for both the Federal and State Legislatures.

Ms. Tidwell was appointed by the Governor of Missouri in 2001. She served as one of the three commissioners on the Missouri State Tax Commission. There, she supervised 115 county assessors across the state of Missouri regarding property taxes. The Missouri Tax Commission, also, has supervisory authority over utility companies, telecommunications, electric, pipelines, and railroad companies.

Ms. Tidwell is a graduate of Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. She received her MBA in Finance at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

As the Regional Administrator for Region VII, Ms. Tidwell will help to implement, manage, and coordinate the delivery of programs that have a significant impact on the landscape and viability of housing and economic development in the region.
