HUD Secretary Traveled to Kansas CityAnnounced that the City and Housing Authority Partnership Will Receive $30 Million. HUD Secretary Julián Castro traveled to Kansas City on September 28 to announce that the city and housing authority partnership will receive $30 million. It is a Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grant to redevelop severely distressed public housing and revitalize the Paseo Gateway district.
Secretary Castro also participated in the ConnectHome Summit at the Sprint Accelerator co-working space in the tech and Crossroads Art District of Kansas City.
To close the digital divide and expand access to high-speed broadband to families of public housing, ConnectHome is a White House initiative (https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/07/15/fact-sheet-connecthome-coming-together-ensure-digital-opportunity-all). ### |
