The Healing Place for Women

The Healing Place for Women, a 67-unit group home located at 1503 S. 15th in Louisville, Kentucky, received $800,000 in forgivable HOME funds for the new construction of eight HOME units in 2008. The mission of the Healing Place is "to reach the homeless, offer recovery for the addicted, and help restore productive lives." The Healing Place for Women is a long-term recovery program providing services for women who suffer from addiction and homelessness. The women's campus provides safe, affordable housing to women in recovery and their children. On-site and off-campus recovery services, case management and peer mentoring assist women to maintain sobriety and develop larger goals for themselves and their families. The Healing Place boasts a success rate of 67% - of the men and women who complete the program, 67% of maintain sobriety for one year post service delivery.

There are currently approximately 240 women in the program.
