Kentucky State Senator Gerald Neal hosted "An Evening with HUD" recently to welcome Christopher Taylor to HUD and to the community. The Senator presented Mr. Taylor with an honorary certificate from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Senator Neal has served District 33 in the Commonwealth since 1988 and during his tenure began the African American Initiative (AAI). Members of AAI were in attendance during the presentation.

"We were so pleased to host Mr. Taylor from such an important agency while he is early in his new position at HUD," said Senator Gerald Neal. "He is so accomplished and engaging and was very well received by the group. We are certainly looking forward to a good relationship with him."

AAI's primarily focus is on policy and forming relationships with key policymakers in the community. AAI is composed of a wide array of primarily African American community leaders and operatives from the Louisville area that have come together to discuss and address the issues that confront the African American community. It is an open process that is focused on bringing the considerable expertise, experience, and influence of its participants into a focused, collective effort to inform and promote the needs and desires of the African American community and by extension the entire Louisville community.
