Recently HUD Field Office Director Christopher Taylor sat down with newly elected Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin to discuss various HUD funding programs and how they impact the Commonwealth.

One major initiative that became the topic of focus was the Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness. The Governor was very pleased to hear that HUD and our many Kentucky partners have a long-term plan in place to quickly and permanently house those homeless veterans that we become aware of. The Kentucky Field Office is awaiting an answer from the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (www.ich.gov/) who oversees the approval process and will thereafter advise the Governor who is looking forward to announcing that Kentucky has reached this momentous accomplishment.

"I was really impressed by the Governor's enthusiasm and compassion in helping the people of Kentucky who are in clear need of HUD's programs," said Taylor. "I am very optimistic that with the Governor's dedication that we can work in partnership to achieve great results in Kentucky."
