HUD ANNOUNCES PETER E. JACKSON AS KENTUCKY FIELD OFFICE DIRECTOR

LOUISVILLE - U.S. Housing and Urban Development Southeast Regional Administrator Denise Cleveland-Leggett, announced the selection of Peter E. Jackson to serve as HUD Field Office Director for the Commonwealth of Kentucky beginning June 24, 2019.

As the Commonwealth of Kentucky Field Office Director, Jackson will serve as HUD's liaison to mayors, city managers, county commissioners, elected representatives, state and local officials, congressional delegations, nonprofit groups, private entities, faith-based groups, other stakeholders and individual Americans. He will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of HUD programs and services to communities and individuals, as well as, evaluating their efficiency and effectiveness.

"Peter brings a unique blend of leadership and experience in the public and private sector to the Commonwealth of Kentucky," said Cleveland-Leggett. "I have high expectations for him and know that he will work hard to enhance and accelerate the ongoing efforts and progress being made throughout the communities of Kentucky."

"At the end of the day, my goal is to ensure that the individuals, families, and communities we serve have access to life-changing opportunities for affordable housing coupled with self-sufficiency programs that help them achieve their version of the American dream."

Jackson served as a Housing Program and Policy Specialist with the Federal Housing Administration prior to selection as the Kentucky Field Office Director. Primarily responsible for managing special projects and overseeing sensitive contracting initiatives, Jackson was instrumental in improving the impact and efficiency of FHA Single Family loan programs. Most notably, Jackson was responsible for implementing changes to the HECM reverse mortgage program to improve home retention rates for distressed borrower categories. He also served as a Principal Government Technical Representative overseeing over $1 billion of contracts nationwide performing property preservation services of HUD's Real Estate Owned portfolio. The latest effort he was working on prior to accepting the Field Office Director position was the Valuation and Disposition Services project, an FHA modernization initiative designed to streamline FHA servicing procedures and maximize the return on defaulted single-family assets.

Prior to joining civilian federal service in 2011 to assist with FHA's rebound from the housing crisis, Mr. Jackson's career consisted of project management and leadership experience across a range of industries and geography. Jackson has worked at several major financial firms in New York and he also served as an executive of an Oklahoma-based consulting firm that specialized in improving relationships between large entities and impoverished communities.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Jackson holds a B. Sc. Degree in Economics and International Business from the New York University Stern School of Business and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Jackson is married with four children between the ages of ten and seventeen.
