Boston Housing Authority's Jobs Plus program, "CharlestownWorks," recently joined forces with Tech Goes Home (https://www.techgoeshome.org/
?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery), an organization that has worked with BHA's ConnectHome program. Tech Goes Home strives to ensure that people are equipped with the tools, training, and access to support 21st century skills.

Through this partnership, students who attend 15 hours of hands-on training classes receive a Chromebook. These classes are designed to familiarize students with computer basics, such as word processing and creating visual presentations.

Removing the fear of technology through these trainings gives students confidence to advance their education and future careers.

Eleven students completed the first 5-week training session, with two more planned for later this year. Students celebrated their success by presenting their slide shows to their classmates and class tutors from Boston College. With Chromebooks in hand, students left armed with the knowledge that what they learned in class would help them put their new devices to good use.
