HUD New England Regional Administrator Juana Matias recently visited 2Life Communities, a HUD subsidized 202 housing provider.

Amy Schectman, President/CEO, talked about their results driven model of senior housing, "less than three percent of 2Life residents move to nursing homes each year and on average they do so at 88 years of age versus the national average of 79," she said. Residents are able to live at 2Life longer due to the extensive services and programs focused on keeping their residents healthy and engaged.

2Life has six campuses in five Massachusetts communities with just under 1,400 subsidized units. Their residents come from 30 countries and speak 26 languages - their programming has focused on providing culturally engaging programs for all the populations that they serve.
