As part of President Obama's plan to create jobs and to build opportunities as communities regain economic footing, Flint, MI is receiving guidance and technical advice from federal inter-agency teams. The teams are working with city leaders to support the community's vision for economic development.

The Strong Cities, Strong Communities Initiative (SC2) (www.huduser.org/portal/SC2/home.html) team is providing expertise to support the city's focus on neighborhood stabilization, economic development, brownfield remediation and violence prevention. They support the city's efforts to manage multiple funding sources and to streamline regulations. The team is assisting with the ongoing efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement partners to achieve better public safety and neighborhood revitalization outcomes.

In the words of Flint Mayor Dayne Walling, "Flint is transforming into a diverse, 21st century city and SC2 engagement will speed our progress."
