Mississippi Welcomes Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) Staff

The Jackson, Mississippi HUD Field office welcomes the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Director, Marilyn Moore-Lemons and Equal Opportunity Specialists, Yvonne C. Christopher and Naima Hull and Equal Opportunity Assistant, Lora Douglas. Ms. Moore-Lemons, Ms.Yvonne Christopher and Naima Hull joined the Jackson HUD Field Office staff in September and October 2006.

The FHEO staff will work to carry out FHEO's mission: to create equal opportunity for all persons living in America by administering laws that prohibit discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability and familial status. The Mississippi FHEO staff will enforce the U. S. Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 109 of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act 01 1974, Title II of the Americans with Disability Act of 1990, Architectural Barriers Act of 1968, age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title IX of the Education Amendments Act, Fair Housing, Related Presidential Executive Orders, and engage in education and outreach activities.
