Butte Public Housing Authority (PHA) Celebrates 75th Anniversary

The Public Housing Authority (PHA) of Butte (www.buttehousing.org/home) celebrated its 75th anniversary with a ceremony for residents and community members on August 10, 2016. According to PHA Executive Director Revonda Stordahl, the 75th anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the success of the agency and to recognize its many accomplishments over the years. To celebrate the milestone event, the PHA hosted a community barbecue at a park near their Silver Bow Homes property.

The Chief Executive of Butte-Silver Bow, Matt Vincent, attended the celebration and provided 75th birthday wishes to the PHA. He noted that the community needs to recognize accomplishments like this more often because the PHA has helped countless families in the Butte area since its inception in 1941.

HUD Helena Field Office Director Erik Amundson also offered congratulations to the PHA board and staff, noting that over the decades since its establishment the PHA has worked tirelessly to create safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for so many low and moderate income residents of Butte and Silver Bow County.

The mission of the PHA is to provide high-quality, well-managed, affordable housing opportunities to the citizens of Butte, as well as providing residents with opportunities for economic self-sufficiency and enhanced quality of life with a commitment to serving clients with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.

Moving forward and looking at the next 75 years, Butte is equipped with a strong vision and an articulated focus on providing affordable housing for those that need it as a platform to improve their quality of life.
