On October 4, 2019, North Carolina Field Office Director, Jody Moses and FPM Program Analyst and PMF, James Gormley, met with Congressman David Price, North Carolina, 4th District and Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, at his Chapel Hill office as part of their ongoing congressional outreach efforts. The discussion included conversation about solutions to the lack of availability of affordable housing, maximizing opportunities in Opportunity Zones and Disaster Recovery. The conversation included specific points around HUD Section 202 and 811, programs of which Congressman Price has demonstrated historical commitment to and are exemplified by the Housing for People with Disabilities Roundtable, which he co-hosted with the ARC of North Carolina in 2018.

Congressman Price also invited the HUD Greensboro Field Office to look to co-host an event in early 2020 supportive of common housing related priorities and goals to include; Opportunity Zones, Section 3, Reducing Homelessness, Making Homes Safer and housing for Seniors and People with Disabilities. The event, will include public, private and philanthropic industry partners and stakeholders.
