Greensboro Field Office Celebrates Women's History Month and Reflects on Two Years of Life with COVID

On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, the Greensboro Field Office held a social event to celebrate Women's History Month and discuss life with COVID over the past two years. Presentations on careers, accomplishments, and legacies of past and present women Secretaries of HUD were shared and enjoyed by all in attendance. Ms. Staci Conklin, PIH Specialist, and Ms. Erin Reis, Attorney-Advisor, led the presentation to the Field Office staff. Greensboro Field Office Director Mr. Roosevelt A. Grant also spoke in appreciation of Women's History Month. He acknowledged all of the women leaders within the field office for their dedication, hard work, and contributions. He also noted that over 70% of Field Office leaders are women, which is something to celebrate!

A new Financial Analyst, Ms. Melissa Robinson, joined the PIH Team and was introduced during the Social. Ms. Robinson shared that she originally was from Columbia, SC, and gave insight into her background and transition to employment with HUD during a time of remote onboarding. This was a great segway into sharing reflections on life changes, transitions, and challenges since the start of COVID. Attendees shared their experiences working remotely while having children remote learning, moving and onboarding during a pandemic, and adjusting to a new norm. Overall, staff adjusted and showed they could work as a team at work and home, virtually transition into new jobs seamlessly, collaborate with colleagues, and work effectively in a remote environment.
