HUD Omaha Field Office Hosts Financial Management Training

Spanning August 19th to the 23rd, The Omaha Field Office hosted 32 participants for training on the fundamentals of financial management and governance, focusing on the knowledge and tools to efficiently and effectively manage housing portfolios.

The majority of the audience was comprised of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) staffs, Community Planning and Development (CPD) grantees, and Multifamily Housing (MFH) stakeholders.

Day 1 focused on internal controls and financial management, including key financial documents and systems. Day 2 concentrated on financial performance monitoring, including Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and how to interpret the calculations they produce.

Day 3's focus was on project-based budget development and analysis, while the last 2 days encompassed capital fund planning, implementation and reporting.
