On Saturday, April 23, philanthropic organizations and caring citizens across the nation band together to help local homeowners with much needed interior/exterior repairs and lawn care needs.

Each year the last Saturday in April is National Rebuild Day, which marks the annual culmination of activities at Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together is a national network of local affiliates providing critical renovations and modifications to the homes of low-income Americans at no-cost to the homeowners.

This year like many before, Omaha Field Office staff answered the call of service. 24 Omaha HUD staff persons, family members and friends volunteered for the Rebuild Together Omaha activities from 8-2 pm.

This community service event was led by Rebuilding Together and in partnership with Abide and the Prospect Village Neighborhood Association. Saturday's activities were the culmination of a week-long rebuilding effort in Prospect Village, located in North Omaha.

As many as 350 volunteers provided critical renovations and modifications to homes mostly, but not entirely, on houses along Decatur Street, from 30th to 33rd.
