Homes for Veterans: Victory Park Apartments in Lincoln

On Saturday, November 12, 2016, HUD's Omaha Field Office Director (FOD) participated in the groundbreaking event for Victory Park Apartments, supportive housing for veterans. Victory Park is part of a targeted redevelopment plan by the City of Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Lincoln City Council recently approved a redevelopment agreement with developers for an eventual ten-year, project to turn the current 65 acre VA Campus into Victory Park. The plan includes the renovation of the VA hospital and $115 million dollars adding medical office buildings, apartments and rental townhomes for veterans and seniors.

The new apartment building will use 70 HUD-VASH Vouchers, which are specifically for veterans.
