On Wednesday, September 25, 2013, the Newark Office donated a record 1,183 pounds of food to help feed families in New Jersey, surpassing last year's donation of 1,134 pounds. The donation was presented to Eva's Village, a comprehensive Paterson non-profit social service organization dedicated to fighting homelessness and poverty. Eva's soup kitchen serves a hot lunch for up to 400 homeless and working poor 365 days a year. The organization also serves lunch to participants in its outpatient program each day, and breakfast, lunch and dinner to all of those staying in its recovery and sheltering programs. This amounts to more than 1,200 meals per day.
