Valley Brook Village Supportive Housing for Homeless Veterans Tour

Newark Office Director Diane Johnson and Senior Management Analyst Carleton Lewis Joined Community Hope's CEO Michael Armstrong and Veterans Affairs Homeless Services Chief Victor Carlson for a tour of Community Hope's Valley Brook Village. Valley Brook Village is the new home and supportive housing development for 62 formerly homeless veterans in the HUD/VASH program. Located on the Veterans Affairs Health Care System's campus in Lyons New Jersey, Valley Brook Village resulted from years of collaborative planning and a committed public/private partnership. Land: 16 acres of the Veterans Affairs Health Care System's Lyons, NJ Campus donated through the Federal Enhanced Land Use Program
Funding: over $15.5 million in private tax credit investments and grants funding from Met Life, Local Initiatives Support Corp., and the National Equity Fund
Rent Subsidies: 62 Project-based HUD/VASH vouchers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
