On Thursday, July 10, 2014, Newark Senior Management Analysts Alan Gelfand and Carleton Lewis staffed an information table at the Newark Museum's "Jazz in the Garden" concert. The Newark Museum is one of the key cultural and educational anchors in the City. This was the HUD Newark Office's host date at the concert series, and The Shirazette Experiment Jazztet performed at the event, which attracted over 300 people. Both Gelfand and Lewis provided information and answered questions on the Department's homeownership programs, housing counseling, fair housing requirements, and rental assistance.
