HUD Labor Relations Speaks to Housing Authorities at Public Housing Conference in New Jersey

HUD Region II staff provided multiple presentations at the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NJNAHRO) Spring Conference held in Atlantic City. Housing professionals and stakeholders, as well as local, state, and government officials, convened to network and received the latest updates from the affordable and public housing industry.

Cory Chu, Contractor Industrial Relations Specialist in the HUD Region II Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement, explained hiring and reporting procedures, and answered questions from a group of Housing Authority directors.

HUD New Jersey FHEO Director Wanda Nieves; Brenda Edmonson, Programs Compliance Branch Chief; and Sharon J. Field, Enforcement Branch Chief, provided a civil rights and fair housing requirements update. Greg Byrne from HUD Headquarters highlighted the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD) to developers and housing authority directors.

HUD New Jersey Field Office Director Maria Maio-Messano and HUD New Jersey Director of Public Housing Sonia Burgos were also in attendance.
