HUD New Jersey CPD Director Annemarie Uebbing and Senior CPD Representative Arthur D'Amaro attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for two affordable housing buildings in Passaic. Of the 38 total apartments in the two developments, 9 units were assisted with $454,000 in HOME Program funds. City officials celebrated the completion of renovations at the buildings where Passaic families had experienced a fire.

The apartments located at 20-22 Broadway are two bedroom units that include air conditioners and wood cabinets. The housing on 585 Main Avenue have one to three bedrooms.

The HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) provides formula grants to States and localities that communities use - often in partnership with local nonprofit groups - to fund a wide range of activities including building, buying, and/or rehabilitating affordable housing for rent or homeownership or providing direct rental assistance to low-income people. HOME is the largest Federal block grant to state and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households.
