The Ablett Village Jobs Plus Initiative staff in Camden, New Jersey, was recognized by the Salvation Army Kroc Center with the Community Partner of the Year Award for their outstanding work. Ronelle Brown, Jobs Plus Program Coordinator; Dwana White, Job Developer; Judith Garcia, Case Manager; and Tracey Powell, Community Coach, accepted the award at the annual Kroc Center luncheon.

HUD's Jobs Plus Initiative connects public housing residents with employment, education, and financial empowerment services—a proven model to help public housing residents find and keep better-paying jobs.

HUD awarded the Housing Authority of the City of Camden's Ablett Village a $1.7 million Jobs Plus Initiative grant in 2018 to assist residents with training and job placement. Jobs Plus staff didn't stop there - for the last two years, they partnered with the Kroc Center and participated in food basket distribution, health fairs and social services, employment fairs, and COVID-19 vaccinations. Jobs Plus staff also volunteers annually with the Kroc Center and help with packing Christmas toys for families that applied for holiday assistance through the KROC Center.

Congratulations to Ronelle, Dwana, Judith, and Tracey, and thank you for all you do!
