Summer of 2002 brought the Las Vegas HUD Office together with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBSF) and Bank West of Nevada who hosted the Enterprise Empowerment Conference for Faith-Based and Non-Profit Organizations. The conference was held at a local Casino from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. The conference provided information regarding business practices for faith-based organizations, a grant writing workshop and networking opportunities.

Lois Greene, Senior Vice President of Bank West with opening remarks along with a panel of guests presented information regarding credit, legal issues as well as faith-based organizations in the Las Vegas valley. FHLBSF provides grants in excess of $45 million dollars per year. There were over 100 people in attendance. This was the second in a series of faith based conferences and workshop in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas HUD office looks forward to additional conferences with different themes and areas of focus, which are currently being planned for the fall of 2002 and the upcoming 2003 year.
